Easy to deploy connectivity solutions you can rely on
Connectivity solutions
As a leader in wireless connectivity, we focus on delivering the most innovative, secure and reliable solutions to meet the needs of all our customers. We prioritize easily deployable options and remove complexity so that you can concentrate on what you do best.
Our Nokia Digital Automation Cloud (DAC) private wireless as a service, is a plug and play 4.9G/LTE and 5G solution that will support your most demanding use cases and applications, with reliable high capacity and low latency connectivity for business-critical performance.
Nokia DAC also supports Wi-Fi to meet the connectivity demands for non-business-critical operational technology (OT) applications at any industrial site, such as deskless workforce instructions and non-critical connections used to access machine maintenance data.
With new Nokia MX Boost, you no longer need to worry about having to choose the right technology for your use cases, as it combines different connectivity technologies – including Wi-Fi - into a single wireless connectivity system, giving you the greatest choice in supporting your digital transformation.
For industrial use cases requiring a customizable, locally managed solution, Nokia Modular Private Wireless (MPW) network is the best option to serve demanding, complex and mission critical connectivity needs.

Solutions for your spectrum of choice
Licensed (vertical or CSP leasing)
Regulatory bodies around the world are increasingly releasing enterprise licenses for specific frequency bands. Many countries have now issued spectrum bands (2.6GHz TD-LTE, 3.7GHz, etc) for private wireless.
Nokia has agreements with several communication service provider (CSP) partners to utilize some of their spectrum for private wireless deployments. Spectrum can be requested on an ad-hoc basis or as part of the CSP’s own private wireless offering.
Higher frequency bands tend to be used for private wireless needs at industrial sites as they provide the right mix of capacity and coverage. Wide area private networks tend to favor lower spectrum for segments such as public safety, utility or railways (410-900Mhz)
Shared
The US leads the shared spectrum offering, with US Citizen Band Radio Service (CBRS) using 3.5Ghz and has Incumbent, Priority Access License (PAL) and General Authorized Access (GAA) options available for shared use. GAA spectrum, is open to anyone via online application, tends to be more applicable for site specific coverage, while PAL, which requires bidding for, allows for wider deployments.
Many countries are looking at similar shared spectrum band usage going forward.
Unlicensed
The 5GHz, 6GHz and 60GHz license-free spectrum bands have opened new opportunities for industries and the public sector to deliver private wireless services. Today 4.9G/LTE based private wireless can operate in the 5GHz spectrum using MulteFire technology.
The benefits of unlicensed include easy access and reduced cost as there’s no need to acquire spectrum or rights to it. Likewise it allows deployment of private wireless in any market where spectrum is hard to get, or local CSPs do not allow sub-leasing of their spectrum.
Enterprises can complement existing private wireless networks, with added capacity using an unlicensed option for high data uplink use cases like video applications, for example. It is also particularly suitable for new nomadic use cases like events, construction, broadcasting, etc.
Nokia is a member of MFA Alliance for private networks
Nokia is a founding member of MFA, the Alliance for private networks , which is an international consortium championing the global industry adoption of private networks in any available spectrum. MFA is resource bank for enterprises and industry verticals to help simplify the path to private wireless deployment and accelerate the ecosystem. Resources include tools based on 3GPP 5G standards including Uni5G technology blueprints, MFA-defined MulteFire® specifications for 4G/LTE, global PLMN-ID access and spectrum availability.
