Nokia Enterprise Campus Edge expands reach, flexibility and efficiency of Digital Automation Cloud Private Wireless for industries
Blog, 16 Apr 2026
- Simplified site connectivity using Nokia Kolibri 5G small cells
- Greater scalability with more radios supported at the DAC PW Compact
- Innovative radio sharing capabilities enabled for Neutral Host functionality
Nokia Enterprise Campus Edge Solutions (ECE) today revealed significant advancements to its industry flagship Digital Automation Cloud Private Wireless (DAC PW) solution. These include three new features designed to expand its reach, flexibility, and operational efficiency for industrial and enterprise customers.
The DAC PW now supports the new Kolibri all-in-one small cell radio platform, an updated and more flexible DAC PW Compact, and new Neutral Host capabilities. Thanks to these innovations, even more small-to-medium enterprises and venues can access high-performance private wireless network connectivity to power their digitalization efforts.
Nokia ECE continues to evolve its private wireless portfolio to address the diverse and growing needs of the industrial sector. The latest updates simplify the deployment of DAC PW and offer greater choice for enterprises wanting to future-proof their operations.
Introducing Nokia Kolibri: Simplified connectivity for small to medium industrial sites
Nokia DAC PW now supports the latest Kolibri all-in-one small cell radio platform. These radios are designed for small to medium-sized industrial environments serving business-critical use cases such as warehousing and logistics. Unlike complex distributed radio systems, Kolibri uses cost-efficient ethernet backhaul instead of demanding fiber fronthaul. Deployment and operations are simplified, and infrastructure costs are reduced, making private wireless more accessible for a broader range of industrial applications.
Enhanced flexibility with DAC PW Compact
The entry-level Nokia DAC PW, known as DAC PW Compact, has been enhanced to offer more flexible scalability. Designed specifically for small industrial sites, it now supports up to 12 radio units, a significant increase from the original solution. Greater coverage and adaptability will support digitalization demands at even more small industrial facilities as customers leverage the capabilities of private wireless in a more compact footprint. And, as enterprises need to grow, a seamless upgrade to the standard DAC PW solution is possible.
DAC PW now supports Neutral Host capabilities
A new Neutral Host capability at the DAC PW will open new avenues for venue owners. This enables innovative features, including:
- An easy-to-use, cloud-based operation support system (OSS) tool tailored for teams without specific telecom expertise to simplify management and operations.
- Independent, conflict-free central control over Neutral Host indoor radio networks, ensuring seamless multi-operator support.
- Future readiness to enable private wireless connectivity and industrial digitalization capabilities for diverse venue operation use cases, from smart buildings to entertainment complexes.
"These latest enhancements to Nokia Digital Automation Cloud Private Wireless underscore our commitment to empowering enterprises with cutting-edge connectivity solutions," said (Kabilan T, Head of Nokia ECE DAC). "With the introduction of Kolibri, the increased flexibility of DAC PW Compact, and new Neutral Host capabilities, we are making the industry-leading private wireless solution even more accessible, adaptable, and powerful than ever before. This enables more industries to accelerate their digitalization journeys, optimize operations, and unlock new levels of efficiency and innovation."
