How Nokia Radio solutions benefit your enterprise
Stable throughput, multi-user capacity and latency
Adaptive scheduling - a unique sophisticated capability of a cellular base transceiver station (BTS) - ensures the most efficient utilization of available radio resources taking into consideration radio conditions and the device attributes. It also ensures the required radio link reliability, flexibility and low latency to meet the needs of certain industrial applications. Additionally, software at the BTS also effectively mitigates interference.
Unmatched coverage
A single 3GPP cellular BTS delivers greater geographical coverage - equivalent to the area covered by 10 Wi-Fi access points - thanks to higher RF output power and a wider range of operating frequency bands. Additionally thanks to Nokia's radio/antenna design expertise our radios provide great outdoor coverage in most challenging conditions that can be either 30 times greater than a Wi-Fi access point can cope with.
Highly scalable
Nokia AirScale radios benefit from a distributed BTS architecture. This means baseband processing is centralized, for a robust, resilient and feature-rich solution that offers unmatched scalability and compute and energy resource savings.
Concurrent support for 4.9G/LTE and 5G
AirScale remote radio heads (RRH) and basband units (BBU) can operate in 4.9G/LTE and 5G dual mode to concurrently create 4.9G/LTE and 5G cells. This allows you to use the same radio to support the needs of demanding (5G) and less demanding (4.9G/LTE) use cases in the most economic way.
Support for a wide spectrum of frequency bands
As well as the common frequency bands used by large carriers we have developed radios offering support for frequency bands including CBRS, LTE-U and more to meet the needs of your industry.
Compact form factor simplifies deployment and saves energy
Benefit from light touch installation, through plug-and-play deployment of the indoor and outdoor radios as well as superior performance beyond their size.
Secure
Nokia radio solutions are secured-by design. They are based on Nokia's design for security (DFSEC) framework and are GSMA Network Equipment Security Assurance Scheme (NESAS) compliant - a best practice in the telecom industry.
Carrier grade SW quality
Your enterprise will benefit from the same software we offer to large carriers with additional enterprise-specific features that address your industrial use case needs, including uplink capacity, latency, reliability and more.
Deployment flexibility
Flexible networking allows you to use existing enterprise campus connectivity and augment radio coverage through front/backhaul and antenna options such as integrated or external antennas.
How does it work?
The AirScale radio solution comprises a wide variety of indoor/outdoor radio units (RRHs) - from small cells to massive MIMO antennas connected to high-capacity baseband units (BBUs). Additionally we offer Flexi Zone All in One (AiO) radios for 4.9G/LTE deployments.
